01. Port & Import Handling

This is where it all begins.

Cargo arrives at the port — typically the Port of Dar es Salaam or Tanga — either by sea freight or barge.

At this stage:

SAS Logistics manages port clearance, customs documentation, and handling operations.
Our team coordinates with port authorities to ensure timely offloading and inspection.
Once cleared, cargo is carefully prepared for inland transportation.
Using our clearing and forwarding expertise, we handle all regulatory and documentation processes on behalf of clients.

Goal: Ensure smooth cargo clearance and zero delays at the port.

02. Inland Transportation

Once cleared, cargo is loaded onto SAS Logistics' modern fleet of trucks for transportation.

This is the backbone of our operations — moving goods safely and efficiently from the coast to inland destinations such as mining sites or storage facilities.

At this stage:

Every truck is equipped with IVMS (In-Vehicle Monitoring System) powered by Geotab.
The FSS (Fleet Safety System) ensures safe driving behavior and compliance with route protocols.
Our control room tracks movement in real-time — ensuring safety, speed compliance, and transparency for clients.

Goal: Deliver cargo on time, safely, and in perfect condition.

03. Warehousing & Storage

Upon arrival at regional hubs or client sites, cargo is stored in SAS Logistics' secure warehousing facilities.

Here we manage:

Storage, inventory tracking, and handling.
Packaging, consolidation, or reloading as per client needs.
Condition monitoring for sensitive materials (especially in mining support logistics).
Warehouses are strategically located near major industrial and mining regions to reduce transit time.

Goal: Provide secure, organized, and efficient inventory management before final delivery.

04. Mine-Site / Industrial Delivery

The final step — SAS Logistics ensures last-mile delivery directly to mines, plants, or industrial facilities.

This includes:

Bulk delivery to processing plants, mine sites, and factories.
Specialized handling for hazardous or regulated materials including bulk tankers and specialized trailers for clients.
Coordination with on-site teams to ensure safe offloading and documentation handover.
Fleet performance and safety data are recorded and analyzed for continuous improvement.

Goal: Complete the logistics cycle — from port to production — with reliability, safety, and traceability at every step.
